Outreach and education are an important part of the Society's efforts to make the community aware of legal issues, available services and the types of cases handled by our staff, and to empower individuals to help themselves. Staff members have given presentations to a wide variety of community organizations, from community and family centers and tenant groups to AIDS, domestic violence, displaced homemaker, youth and shelter programs. The Society is an active participant in community coalitions and staff members are actively involved in community activities. Close working relationships and mutual referrals have been established with related service providers.
