The Hiscock Legal Aid Society has received a matching grant from the John Ben Snow Foundation, which will match dollar-for-dollar all new or increased private support received by Hiscock Legal Aid from individuals and corporations up to a total of $25,000.
“Increased private support from the community will help us become a little less dependent upon increasingly uncertain government funding, and will increase our ability to respond to the many legal needs of the poor in our community,” said Susan Horn, president and CEO of Hiscock Legal Aid Society. “We’re grateful to the John Ben Snow Foundation for this grant. It provides a strong incentive to prospective donors and will be a powerful tool for our Board members and development staff as they solicit support.”
The John Ben Snow Foundation’s mission is to enhance the quality of life in Central and NorthernNew YorkState. The Foundation gives preference to grant proposals that seek funds for new or enhanced programs and matching grants used to encourage participation of other donors.
